Question
Annex I of COMMISSION DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) 2021/2139 of 4 June 2021 defines various insurance services related to climate-related perils. As per the regulation, the following insurance services (other than life insurance) are delineated: (a) Medical expense insurance; (b) Income protection insurance; (c) Workers' compensation insurance; (d) Motor vehicle liability insurance; (e) Other motor insurance; (f) Marine, aviation, and transport insurance; (g) Fire and other damage to property insurance; (h) Assistance. It is noted that credit and surety insurance, independent lines of business as of 2015/35, are not explicitly listed within the aforementioned categories. Therefore, clarification is sought regarding whether credit and surety insurance are considered within the scope of the specified insurance services, particularly concerning climate-related perils, as outlined in Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/2139.
