What are union-wide strategic supervisory priorities?
Every three years EIOPA identifies up to two priorities of relevance for the whole European Union which reflect future developments and trends.
These supervisory priorities take stock of:
- contributions from competent authorities
- existing work by the EU institutions
- analysis, warnings and recommendations published by the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB)
How are they used?
National Competent Authorities take these priorities into account when drawing up their work programmes.
The priorities of Union-wide relevance identified by EIOPA do not prevent NCAs from applying their best practices or take into account their additional priorities, developments or national specificities.
