Biography
Marcin Detyniecki has been at the forefront of AI research for over two decades, with a strong focus on fostering human progress by making AI-enabled benefits safe and available to all. He is currently Group Chief Data Scientist & Head of AI Research and Thought Leadership at insurance global leader AXA. He leverages his expertise to help AXA deliver value and overcome AI and ML-related business challenges and enable the group achieve its transformation as a tech-led company. He leads a team of 15 researchers who have published numerous academic papers and have contributed to various AI projects.
Marcin has published over 200 scientific peer-reviewed academic papers.
Among other roles, he has worked as a Research Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, as a post-doctorate at University of California at Berkeley and as a Research Scientist at CNRS in France for several years. He still has a strong connection to the academic world as he remains a Professor at the Polish Academy of Sciences and an Associate Researcher at the Computer Science Laboratory (LIP6) at Sorbonne University where he focuses on AI topics and provides guidance to PhD students.
