About Occupational Pensions Statistics
EIOPA provides statistical data on how institutions for occupational retirement provision in the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA) perform. The statistics contain aggregated country level information about the basic information, balance sheet, asset exposures, expenses, member data, contributions, benefits, and transfers. Data refers to the latest information available for each reference date.
Our statistics are based on quantitative pensions data reports. Occupational pension institutions in the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA) provide these reports to their national competent authorities. EIOPA aggregates these reports to create the statistics.

Report on Cross-border IORPs
Cross-border IORPs statistics and its accompanying annual report map the developments in cross-border arrangements of Institutions for Occupational Retirement Provision. The report is a continuation of the EIOPA Market Developments Reports on IORPs, however, it is narrower in scope as it focuses solely on cross-border IORPs.

Note on methodology
Pension statistics published by EIOPA may differ in methodology, scope and source from statistics published by national authorities. Where possible, EIOPA aggregates individual pensions fund templates prepared at national level (some Member States submit an aggregate return for all pension funds in the country and individual returns for the largest IORPs in that country) and publishes data as received. The cover ratio as calculated from EIOPA statistics is not necessarily equivalent to national funding or coverage ratios - stakeholders should refer to national statistics for coverage ratios applicable to the national supervisory framework.
